Zach Nichols UI/UX Designer
I am a multidisciplinary Art Director and Designer living in the Baltimore area with a primary focus on digital design, UI/UX, identity, and campaign concept development. My Story
I began working at an agency called Gilden Integrated where I worked on logos and collateral for Sprint, Legg Mason and various other local companies. Soon after I met Dave Taub who started a firm called Round 2 Communications. My first job at Round2 was working remotely for another agency as their onsite designer in DC. Driving to DC from Baltimore everyday was not my ideal idea of a “remote” design job but it taught me how to interact with clients face to face early on.
Round2 Communications merged with company called BiForce and we rebranded oursleves as R2integrated and expanded from 12 to 40 employees over night. The next 8 years were a wild ride and I truly grew as an identity and UI/UX designer. I played an integral role in helping the company grow from 3 employees to nearly 150 employees, based in 5 locations across the United States. I moved to our satellite office in Seattle so we could service one of our main clients Microsoft Office 365. After I returned from Seattle I helped start the UX department and worked as the Mobile User Experience Lead where I executed mobile projects for IOS, Android, and Windows 8 platforms along side Chris Chodnicki. Long story short I created countless identities, websites, user experiences, mobile apps for Large, Medium and Small businesses all across the globe over my career at R2i.
After 10 years I decided it was my time to venture out on my own and I created 906 Creative. Over the past 5 years I have managed project managers, identity/web designers and developers. I have worked on a wide range of clients ranging from beauty, retail, healthcare, government, restaurant, technology, commercial real estate, consulting and law firms. I have also acted as design consultant at local agencies such as Welldoc, JellyFish, Social Toaster and WebMechanix working on various internal and client facing projects.
